    Responsibilities spanned all communication and event management disciplines. Managed the communication department consisting of a congress & event coordination cell, a creation & production cell, and an admin cell. Major achievements included the introduction of a more imaginative graphic approach (and applying this consistently throughout all
    communication tools and events), dramatic improvement of the accessibility, consistency and overall usability of catalogues, professionalisation of congress participation.
  • OMC Europe - Marketing Communications Manager

    1979 - 1991 European subsidiary (based in Belgium) of OMC, Outboard Marine Corporation (Waukegan, USA), formerly a leading manufacturer and marketer of goods and services for motorised pleasure boating (outboard and stern drive engines, powerboats, boating accessories, boat rental) and speedboat racing.

    Managed two departments in parallel: the communication department and the racing department – total of 7 people.

    Major achievements included extreme success in obtaining regular coverage of speedboat races in international daily press (by making information very accessible and understandable to nonspecialist press), aligning the brand positioning of previously diverging brands across European, increasing the accessibility and relevancy of technical information in end-user oriented documentation, maintaining a regular and popular flow of internal communication.
